We want all of our patients to have healthy, beautiful smiles. The staff here at Esplanade Dental Care<\/a> have come up with some dental tips and advice to help you keep your smile shining bright. There are lots of simple steps you can take to help keep your teeth and gums in good health, so remember to keep these in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

One of the best pieces of advice we can give to our patients is to come and visit us twice a year for your regular dental checkup appointment.<\/a> At these visits we will inspect your teeth to make sure your smile is healthy and answer any questions you might have. Also, make sure you\u2019re brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day. If you want a healthy smile, it\u2019s important to start with a good foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another important tip is to remember that your teeth are designed to be used for chewing food only, not to tear open packages, chew ice, open bottles, untie knots, or anything else. This increases the risk that you will break a tooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, remember to change your toothbrush about every three months, or after an illness. This will help ensure that your toothbrush is free from germs and the bristles won\u2019t get so worn down that they are no longer effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, after eating, make sure you rinse your mouth out or chew sugar-free gum. This can help to increase the flow of saliva which will help to neutralize the acid that can affect your teeth, as well as remove some bacteria that will be hanging around on your teeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
